We hold over 40,000 photographs documenting LGBTIQ+ life in all Australian states and territories as well as Australians overseas, from the 1920s onwards, with the majority post-1970. Our holdings are strongest for Melbourne and Sydney, and the central and eastern states. The archives’ photographs are organised within personal, community organisation, and publisher collections, as well as a General Series Collection comprising single and small groups of photographs.
