Archiving is not all great discoveries and showing off the collection. There is also the mundane work of keeping the materials as safe as we can, preserved in good condition for as long as possible.

So we were very pleased when the National Library of Australia’s Community Heritage Grants program last year gave us a few hundred dollars to install new blinds in our working space. As much as we love having natural light, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Now we have one more layer of protection against heat and UV.
