Gay and lesbian media history

14 October 2011

Former editor and publisher, Bill Calder, has launched a website for people interested in his Gay and Lesbian Media History Project at gaymediahistory.wordpress.com. The website includes a newsletter, a copy of a thesis that Bill has completed as the first stage of the project (The origins of gay and lesbian media in Australia 1969-1978) and opportunities for people to provide information as Bill proceeds to the next phase of the project, a PhD investigating the social and political impact of Australia’s G&L media 1969 to 2000.

Bill’s page on Seeking 70s publishers lists various people who have not been contactable so far. Bill is still hoping to make contact with John Baker and William Easton from William and John, Michelle Daw from Labrys, Peter Langford from Campaign and Cruiser, Harry Lyle Mitchell from Oxford Lifestyle Magazine, Brian Lamb from Now in Melbourne, and Glenn Wells from Village Voice.
