Australian Homosexual Histories Conference
Melbourne
Friday and Saturday, 15-16 November 2013

The Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives announces the latest in its annual conference series, Australian Homosexual Histories, and is seeking offers of papers. This year the conference will be held in Melbourne on Friday and Saturday, 15-16 November.

The Australian Homosexual Histories Conference has generated some pioneering and innovative work on the histories of GLBTIQ life, politics and culture in Australia. The conference brings together academics, professional and independent scholars, researchers and students within the broad field of sexuality and gender studies, with a particular focus on LGBTI topics, Australia and the past. But these parameters are not implemented too tightly.

The conveners, Graham Willett, Yorick Smaal and Luke Gahan, are now inviting proposals for conference presentations. We are especially interested in papers with an historical perspective, although sociological, discursive, legal, cultural and other approaches are also welcome. Abstracts for conference papers should be approximately 100 words and must be submitted by 30 June 2013. If accepted, all papers must adhere to a strict twenty-minute time-length.

Abstracts, questions or queries should be addressed in the first instance to Graham Willett: gwillett@unimelb.edu.au.
