‘Respect beat heritage, as this is our culture’, 2015 (pencil and ink on card; 22.2x23cm), is the only drawing by Wallman in the Archives’ collection, which also holds a range of the artist’s prints, stickers, and zines.
Sam Wallman is an Australian comics journalist, political cartoonist and editor based in Melbourne, Victoria. He is actively involved in the trade union movement, having previously been a union delegate, and an employee of the National Union of Workers. While he may be best known for this union and labour activist works, he has also produced a range of works celebrating queer history and identity.
