Description

Sydney-based artist, designer, and cartoonist Allan Booth (1959-1990) is particularly recognised for his poster designs for the then Sydney Gay Mardi Gras (now Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras), for which he designed the official 1983 and 1984 posters, as well as the 1985 party poster. Booth’s work also included the cartoon strip ‘Doctor Rhythm discovers UV’ (1982), as well as sets and graphic designs for numerous fashion shows, parties and benefits during the mid-1980s. Allan died from AIDS-related illness in July 1990.
