Description
In 1987 following the controversial Grim Reaper campaign, the Victorian AIDS Council (VAC) produced ‘Safe Sex and AIDS’ advertisements on 100,000 milk cartons. The cartons included a number to call for a free brochure and were used by VAC to counter some of the negative portrayals produced by the Grim Reaper campaign, and the negative associations it generated between AIDS and gay men. Over 10,000 copies of the brochure were distributed in the space of two weeks.
