A key part of our work is educating young people about Australian LGBTIQ+ histories.
Since 2012, through the Queer Youth Education Project, we have run workshops on Australian LGBTIQ+ history and culture based on our collection with youth groups, school students, youth workers, teachers and the general public.
These workshops have been held in regional and metropolitan Victoria, in school and youth group settings, and as part of community events like Midsumma and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival.
The workshops can be provided at our Reading Room, or collection material brought to workshops in other settings, such as youth services and schools, in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
The workshops are provided to young people free of charge.
The specific duration, delivery mode and content of workshops is negotiated based on specific interests and needs.
Please contact us if you are interested in bringing a workshop to your group, or learning more about what we cover in our workshop.
