Strategic Plan 2019 – 2021

Our purpose: To collect, preserve and provide access to archival materials which capture the rich, diverse history of the Australian LGBTIQA+ community

 


Collection Management


FY19-21 Goals

Effectively manage, maintain and grow the collection so it’s streamlined, secure, and easily and professionally accessible with a single database.

Strategic Priorities

  1. Transfer the collection catalogue into one database (Project Monte).
  2. Digitise the collection
  3. Develop and maintain a complete set of collection management policies.
  4. Develop and manage publisher partnerships that provide commercially beneficial digital access.

In 2021 we aim to have achieved:

  • Collection catalogue stored in a single database.
  • 90% analogue audio digitised; 50% analogue AV digitised; 50% Posters; 100% badges/t-shirts.
  • Policies produced and reviewed annually.
  • Publisher partnerships developed and retained.

 


Organisational Sustainability


FY19-21 Goals

Grow the organisation’s long term sustainability through improved planning and management of people, finance, accommodation and governance

Strategic Priorities

  1. Develop and manage an effective resourcing strategy and structure across Committee, volunteers, employees, and advisors.
  2. Improve budget and investment forecasting, management, documentation and governance.
  3. Increase diversity of income through philanthropy, donations, publisher partnerships and commercial access.
  4. Effectively manage the relationships and processes with Victorian Pride Centre (VPC) and Thorne Harbour Health (THH) in relation to the relocation to the VPC.

In 2021 we aim to have achieved:

  • Ongoing part-time coordinator engaged
  • Foundation tenant at the VPC with appropriate space to house the collection and administration.
  • 15% increase in revenue is raised through philanthropy, donations, publisher partnerships and commercial access/fees.
  • THH relationship is ongoing.

 


Stakeholder Engagement


FY19-21 Goals

Improve awareness and understanding of the Archive’s purpose and capacity amongst key communities, partners, members and donors (potential and existing)

Strategic Priorities

  1. Develop a digital communication across all digital channels to grow presence and communicate effectively with key audiences.
  2. Develop a partnership plan that provides clarity on role, mutual benefits and impact to be derived from partnerships to guide process and decision making.
  3. Undertake a name change consultation process and implement any required changes.

In 2021 we aim to have achieved:

  • Website redesign in place with facility to gather metrics.
  • Partnerships in place.
  • Name change completed and implemented
  • 70-80% satisfaction rating from public and researchers accessing the collection.
  • 90% recognition of new name. (available via development of an annual stakeholder survey).
